The Town of Eston is seeking to hire one full-time employee for the Public Works and Recreation department. During the summer, this role will be within Public Works, reporting to the Director of Public Works, with a typical schedule of Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. In the winter, the position will be at the AGT Community Centre, reporting to the Facility Manager, with a 40-hour workweek and a varying schedule. Training and professional development opportunities are available.

Summer Duties
• Maintain town property; public parks, fairgrounds and grassed areas
• Mow, whipper snip, pull weeds, rototill, street maintenance, parks and Town properties
• Operate equipment including skid steer and mowers.
• Assist with the construction, repair and maintenance of buildings, fences, sprinkler systems and other such projects

Winter Duties
• Assist with day-to-day operation (monitors schedules and bookings), custodial/cleaning, maintenance and safety of the AGT Community Centre and all recreation facilities.
• Liaises with Facility Manager on priority items and check ins.
• Operate equipment, Zamboni.
• Maintain ice surface throughout the season; flooding, shaving, patching holes, measuring the thickness, edging etc.
• Interact with the public, staff in a positive manner while at the same time being able to enforce Community Centre rules and regulations.

Qualifications
A criminal record check and class 5 driver’s license are required. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, work well with a team and independently, possess good customer service skills, and be community focused.
