Emerge Ag Solutions, located right on the edge of town on Hwy 44 West, is a well-known independent full service retail Ag business. Owned and operated by Rob, Mary & Matt Owens, Emerge is the relatively new rebrand for the business formerly known as Eston Farm Chemicals. Emerge is a big name in Eston, boasting 10 local employees.
This multi-generational business has started to look towards the future with its new sub-division “CONNECT.” I had the honor of sitting down with Matt Owens and Lacey Gerbrandt from Emerge to speak on their new project. Connect is a powerful word and perfect for what they are hoping to achieve. The brand was created to connect people in agricultural, share information, educate, celebrate and honor farmers; all in a fun, interactive atmosphere.
CONNECT is taking the Ag industry by storm, as Matt and Lacey aren’t the type to do anything half way. Their first venture with this new brand is a 2 day, large scale conference focusing on farm women. This event boasts a wonderful line up of speakers – including The Scott Brothers from the hit HGTV show “The Property Bros;” as well as a unique tradeshow focused on local businesses, a red carpet display and a live fashion show. This event has already caught the eye of some large corporate sponsors and over 250 registrations to date. With a top sell of only 500 tickets, I would not be surprised to see this event sell out, so don’t wait – get your tickets today.
CONNECT also has a focus on social responsibility. Matt and Lacey know firsthand what it means to live the agricultural industry, and how a successful Ag business can sustain generations of families. Their next endeavour is a clothing brand, with a percentage of sales used to help develop agriculture all over the world. With aid projects ranging from seeds, increasing yields, or even the tools to deal with drought, CONNECT aims to actually connect our farms to our farming neighbors around the world. Way to make Eston proud, guys!
