November’s feature business has been called Eston’s best kept secret, but hockey parents have been singing his praises for years. Economic Development is proud to present SK Meats, owned and operated by Steve Knutson.
Steve’s career started in high school, as a part time meat cutter for the Co-op in Rosetown. Working under his father, the then meat manager, Steve perfected his trade and eventually took over the role. After some career moves in and out of the industry, Steve missed his calling and decided to open up shop in Eston in 2005. With a building leased from Eston College, along with an agreement to prepare all of their beef, it was a perfect fit and Steve was back to doing what he loved.
SK Meats is proud to provide many services to the Eston area including gluten free products, custom meat processing, and packages to suit any family. But we couldn’t write this article without raving about the prepared items served in the community. From rink burgers, to pulled pork, to sausage at your community pancake breakfast, SK meats truly is our community butcher.
Nestled beside Jamieson Park at 701 1st St, SK Meats is a true testament to the pride of ownership that comes from a locally owned business. Exceptionally clean, quality products and years of serving this community – we are ready for this Eston secret to be revealed. Call Steve today at 306-962-3999 to have him create a custom package for your family, and bring that classic taste home.
