Park Maintenance Worker – Full Time
Seasonal Employment – April 15th thru Oct 15th
Reports To:
The Park Maintenance Worker will report to the Maintenance Manager.
Job Overview
The Park Maintenance Worker is key to the quality of service we provide for our guests. Their role combines the traditional functions within a park offering camping, golf, swimming, and cabin subdivision. The Park Maintenance Worker performs a variety of duties including but not limited to, outdoor landscaping and maintenance and operation of small to medium sized equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Responsible for general maintenance, cleanup duties and safety checks associated with park lands and facilities.
· Operate light vehicles, small grass cutting/hedge trimming machinery, power tools, and other specialized seasonal maintenance equipment.
· Assist with construction and landscape projects.
· Move supplies, picnic tables and equipment as directed.
· Clean washrooms, showers, and other public use areas.
· Collect and dispose of garbage and litter as directed.
· Report any violation of park rules/regulations to your supervisor.
· Assist with setup, tear-down and the operation of special events and functions.
· Seasonal opening and closing operations as directed.
· Golf course maintenance including operating and maintaining an automated irrigation system.
· Assist with swimming pool start-up and shutdown.
Qualifications
· Self-directed with the ability to look ahead and help where required.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to problem solve and make decisions.
· Must be 16 years of age and have valid driver’s license.
· Must be willing to work occasional weekends and holidays.
· Able to operate and maintain a variety of equipment or willing to learn.
· Able to operate and maintain an automated irrigation system but will train.
· Able to handle physical work and some heavy lifting.
· Work well in a team environment of 4-5 staff.
