Emergency Preparedness – Be Ready!
Emergencies can happen anytime — from power outages and grassfires to water breaks and severe storms. Here’s how you can be prepared and stay informed.

1. Be Ready to Take Care of Yourself for 72 Hours
∙ Keep enough food, water, and medications for at least 3 days for everyone in your home.
∙ Have a flashlight, batteries, phone charger, and first aid kit on hand.
∙ If safe, shelter in place until you receive further instructions from local officials.
∙ Make sure pets are included in your plan.
2. Stay Informed
∙ Sign up for Town and RM alerts through All-Net Connect, the website, or social media.
∙ Listen to local radio or check trusted Town/RM channels for updates.
∙ Avoid spreading unverified information — rely on official messages only.
3. Make a Family Plan
∙ Know how to contact family members if phone lines are down.
∙ Pick a meeting place in case you can’t stay home.
∙ Learn the emergency exits in your home, school, or workplace.
4. Help Your Neighbours
∙ Check on elderly neighbours, those with disabilities, anyone who may need extra help.
∙ Share resources if it’s safe to do so.
5. Stay Calm and Follow Instructions
∙ Follow directions from emergency responders.
∙ Do not return to evacuated areas until officials say it’s safe.
∙ Keep your vehicle fueled and emergency kit ready.
